dewi-dewi vs the donnas

Dewi-dewi is a new Indonesian girls band with three members : Puri, Ina and Tata. It was formed by Ahmad Dhani (member of one of Indonesian most famous rock band, Dewa). The strange part is, the album cover is so similiar with the American band’s album cover Gold Medal by The Donnas. I knew right away who’s copying whom because The Donnas’s album was release on 2004 while Recycle + just released this month.

According to DetikHot , Dewi-dewi management stated they didn’t want to copy any artist’s album cover. However, after being pointed out they’ve been thinking to change the background’s colour of the cover.

Well, I believe that they DID copy The Donnas. It was just too similiar in EVERYTHING (except the fact that one band has four members and the other one has three). From the concept, the colour, the drawing style, background even the way their hair “flowing”. So, I don’t believe it is pure concidence at all.

I’m thinking to report this to The Donnas’s management, but still trying to figure it how. (*)
