Roxette new album

The next one is my first painting of Marie (the other half of Roxette) in watercolors. I’m quite proud of this one, I always wanted to learn how to paint, but I always delay it, I guess. I think I was too comfortable with “pencils”, now I didn’t even see me going back ever again.

Oh, the new Roxette album is called Charm School, and the new single is called She’s Got Nothing On, But The Radio.

I never know that this day would come, but it did. On May 6 (a day before my birthday), Roxette together on stage again.

Per Gessle, the man of Roxette (yes, Roxette has two member to all of you who thinks that Roxette is of that blond singer who sings It Must Have Been Love, Listen To Your Heart and many more) are touring Europe to promote his latest album, Party Crasher.

There has been rumor that Marie Fredriksson, the other half of the band, would join him on stage. Not so long ago, Per finally confirmed through his twitter. At that time no one knew where that she’s gonna pop out.

Many of you probably doesn’t know why Marie stop performing with Roxette. It started on 2002, before their appearance on the show Night of the Proms. She fell on her bathroom and then the doctor told her that she has tumor on her brain. A shocking news for her and of course her fans all over the world.

Starting that year, she then focused only to recover from her sickness. The intense treatment has cause her memory loss even eyesight losing to one of her eye (I just found out recently). So, at that moment, all the dream to see Roxette return seemed impossible.

She seemed getting healthier over the years, but seemed has to find new passion, drawing. She had several art exhibition in Sweden. For music, she still does making great one, but usually only in Swedish and recording at her own home. We, the fans, understand her decision and continue wishing her the best.

They do made surprise comeback on 2006, when they decided to get back together and record two new songs, One Wish and Reveal, to include in their Hits album as part of celebration of their 20 years anniversary.

They did performing on stage together at Bravo show, but not live in front of audience. And, that’s about it, Marie goes back to her art while Per kept continue with his solo career.

Then… on May 6th, Marie surprise the fans by performing live at Per Gessle’s concert in front of audience in Amsterdam. She sings It Must Have Been Love and The Look.

According to people who were at the show, many are cries. To see Roxette together and live on stage again after 7 years are just amazing. Although, I am sure the tears mostly for Marie who really stole the show tonight. If you see the video on YouTube, you almost couldn’t hear her singing. The fans kept screaming and singing along with her. I wasn’t there but looking at those video I felt like I was there. The emotional were so real. It’s almost like religious experience. No words can describe it.

Of course this is not the end. Starting October later this year, Roxette is gonna tour together. They back with Night of the Proms, the show that they have to canceled 7 years ago due to Marie’s illness. They only gonna perform few songs, but still the idea that Roxette on stage again still unbelievable.

There is also unconfirmed news that Roxette is gonna record new songs this Autumn. If that true, than 2009 is gonna be the great year for Roxette fans, and it seemed the fever is gonna continue at least in a while.

Before all this news about my favorite duo, I actually was having Roxette mood lately, so I made these:

I have a program called GIMP, I am still learning how to use it. So today I use my new drawing as part of my experiment and I seemed to like it better than the original one.

And here’s the original which looked kinda boring and I am so terrible drawing stairs by only using mouse.

I made some wallpaper yesterday. I didn’t plan to make three, but after made the one with Mariska, I realize that I like it so much so then I made the one with Meg and Nicole. Everyone is welcome to use those.

Nothing much to report today, I am still feeling as lazy as pig. The weather is also starts to get cooler. It was good right now but soon I bet it will be even cooler. I am glad that we have car now so we didn’t to feel freezing while waiting the bus.

I need to reply some emails. I better do that before my laziness becomes worst and I ended up doing nothing (*)

I made it few days ago. I didn’t draw it though. I use the feature on Paint.Net. If you have this software then just click the effect and you can see “pencil sketch”, but then of course I coloring them. I wasn’t satisfy with the results but I was just so tired when I made them.

Talking about Lois Lane. I draw a picture of her today. It’s from my own perspective so it’s quite different than the one in the comics or the movies/show. (*)

Is she Pippi Longstocking? No… Umm, maybe Wendy? You know the logo of one of the fast food restaurants. Well, nope. She wasn’t her.

She was just a girl that popped up in my mind today and I decide to draw it. When I finished it, I realized that the colors and the style was just so girly. Now, it’s also on my desktop. At least just for a while until I find a better one.

Adam’s New Hair

I kept mentioning that Adam finally got his long hair cuts. So, that’s how he looked like now (*)

I forgot I made this one. I am not so fond with Per’s hand, I swear I could do better on paper than computer. Hopefully one day I could have better drawing program on computer.

Anyway, I didn’t write more of my project today. The computer I used to write it is broken, so now my files is trapped there. Actually I could still take it somehow but I just don’t know how.

Yesterday we went to Mission Valley to get some stuff. We got more shuttlecock because we ran out already, so this afternoon we should start play again.

Lately, I am pretty busy rating movies on Flixter. It seemed I have found a new hobby now. Well, I always love to rate movies, but the way they have on that site was more way fun.

We haven’t return the movie we got from Blockbuster (Uzumaki and Hills Have Eyes 2). We might today though.(*)

My idea was actually to draw something called Queen of Rain (based on Roxette’s song). But when it’s done it’s more like queen of clouds to me.

Anyway, I didn’t have anything to report lately. Basically my life was always the same everyday. I still watch movies sometimes (and we finally done with all Oprah’s DVD). Right now, we have Misery waiting to be watch.

Adam ate healthy food lately, which is great. We also bought racket and shuttlecock (?) so we can start playing badminton.

I still have lots of goals, but I just don’t know how to get them. I feel stuck and couldn’t find or do anything creative. Well, I know I draw this, but I still want something more. I hate to see calendars just to see another day has passed without me getting closer to what I really want. I felt like an army who fight without a single weapon. It’s funny though how I am still survive until this moment. It’s it a good luck? Or maybe so I can keep my eyes open to the answers I have been looking for.

I am still waiting to be free from all of this, where I can find the old version of myself.
