The first lady of California Maria Shriver admitted to Oprah that she was lost. She cried a lot and still crying today.
She thought that she lived the life that she wanted to be. She wanted to be journalist and she became one. She married to Arnold Schwarzenegger and thinks that she is in the right place, until her husband was elected to become the Governor of California. On the same day, she lost her job as journalist but she didn’t realize that she also lost her identity.
Is she selfish because she seemed in the place where many people wanted to be? Becoming the first lady of California, like Oprah said, is a dream of many women. Not to mention being marry to the “Terminator” Arnold Schwarzenegger. She seemed like she’s having everything but apparently not. She doesn’t have her true identity anymore.
She said on her book as quoted by Oprah, “If I am not the news woman on tv, then who am I now?” She said now people only identify her as the Governor’s wive, and she said that it’s not her real identity.
The point about the whole interview just so make sense to me now. I myself sometimes start to think that I will just do the best in everything that life brought. But why when I read the news of my co workers doing or writing things that I suppose to do, I envy them. I feel like the life is unfair. I forgot that they actually just playing some random roles too. None of them really studying journalist like me. They’re coming from completely different background with me, but life directs them to journalism world. While me, I was studying it for 8 years, dreaming about it for basically all my life, but only get a chance to do for 4 years and now I am living without it for almost three years. I can’t lie that I think that it’s so unfair.
Now I have a plan to trying to get my identity back. Will that be with Journalism or simply trying to find new things that I have the same passion with? It doesn’t matter as long I can rediscover myself again(*)

I always loved to read and basically I’d read everything. But, back on 1997, back when I started college and then got a job, I just didn’t have time to read anymore. I always felt so tired so even though I did try sometimes usually I gave up. Also, at that time all the books that I tried to read seemed not interesting enough, well until I found Sorcerer Stone.
Of course I heard about Harry Potter. I saw the first movie Sorcerer Stone and thought it was just an okay movie. Never across my mind to read the book until one day in 2002, I was waiting a call from Adam. It felt like forever, so I decided to gather a book that lay in the table and started to read it. It was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone!
When I started reading it, I got hooked up right away! The first page of the first chapter was just so interesting and it made me curious to read more and more and finally I READ the whole book in only few hours. This book was just so awesome! It was even better than the movie. It was more entertaining, funnier, smarter and it was simply the best book I have ever read.
At the same year, I got assignment from my work to go to Surabaya. They have me some money for hotel and food. But since I have family there so I decided to stay with them instead. I was visiting a mall onetime and decided to get Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, went home and read those. Guess what, the next day I went to get Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire the day after that. Suddenly after so long being obsessed with Roxette, I HAD new obsession, and it was Harry Potter. At the same time, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was played on the theater, so I went to watch it and finally for the first time I REALLY enjoy the movie and couldn’t decide which I love more, the book or the movie.
When I went back to Manado. I watched Chamber of Secrets again, I think probably for 5-6 times in a theater. Then I decided to bought the VCD of Sorcerer Stone and this time I REALLY REALLY love it! After that, I couldn’t wait for the next movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Then the book five Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix came. I read the English version for the first time and when the Indonesian translation available, I read that one too. When the movie “Azkaban” came, I watched it the first night it played on theater and then for another four times.
When I moved to US, it was the same year with the book Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. My co workers, Hetty and Mesya bought me this book so I could read that on the plane from Manado to Los Angeles. However, I was just to scary being on a plane so I couldn’t even do anything. So, I started to read it only when I got here.
Just few weeks after that, we went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on theater and went again the week after that.
Two years after that we went to see Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. This time we FINALLY see that on Imax, which I always wanted to do. It was wonderful experience, but we only see it once. Not longer after that I got the latest book and unfortunately the last ever called Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
I FINALLY done reading it two days ago. It was great, sad, tragic but mostly great. In other hand, I was relieved that the book goes exactly the way I wanted it to be. Usually, I didn’t really mind when the movie version doesn’t really covered everything, but for this last book I felt that everything are just too important too left out. My favorite part the one with Dobby the house elves. I REALLY hope they will include his story, because this is the one that somehow effect me the most. I like the story about Snape too, but I knew that it’s gotta be on the movie version so I am not worry about that.
I am glad that at least we still have two movie to wait, so it didn’t really a total goodbye. However, the adventure with the book already ended. It’s been great and wonderful journey…(*)

I finally have the last series of the greatest story ever told ever! Which is ” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. That’s the good thing that happen this weekend. The bad thing is I couldn’t get my stupid green card as soon as I expected because we have to pay like 1000 dollar and we didn’t have the money yet. So, instead of saving money, we bought Harry Potter instead! Pretty wise, huh?
Since we’ve been delaying getting this book, it’s already 20 % discount now, so we paid for 20 bucks I think. Oh, we bought this at B. Dalton Booksellers at Horton Plaza, San Diego.
At the same mall, we decided to get some interesting candies. So far I only ate one of them. We got more than what shown in the pictures.
Mission Trail Regional Park
Few hours ago, we went to Mission Trail Regional Park. We passed that area before when we went to Lake Murray but only this time we’ll be able to there. I must say that it’s probably 100 times better than Lake Murray. It has very interesting mountain view unfortunately I didn’t really good in caught them into pictures.
The picture above taken at Visitor Place at the same place. It also built in a very interesting way. I mean, if you decided to just stay there it’s still gonna be fun. Of course, it’s more fun to walk around.
