I heard that some of you can’t read my website unless you’re highlighting it. I hope it works now after I changed the font color. If not, please do let me know.

Well, I changed the the whole theme as well. This time I am using the picture that I took myself, and you can view that here

I also already have Flickr Pro so I’ve been taking lots of picture lately and here are some of them:

and

Of course you always welcome to visit my Flickr page by clicking here

On to movies, we saw The Lost Highway last night and now Stir of Echoes is waiting to be viewed next. Also, I forgot to write my review about Crying Game, which also a pretty interesting movie. So, stay tune!

I saw Golden Globe few nights ago and surprise to see Kate Winslet win two award for Best Actress and also supported actress. She’s a fantastic actress, so I think she deserves it even though I root for Meryl Streep.

Of course the most memorable scene is when Micky Rourke went on a stage and get his award. I am 100% confident that we’re gonna see him at least as one of the nomination at academy awards.

The worst thing is probably the jokes by Sacha Baron Cohen. It’s ssssoo “tabloid” and not funny at all. He should start working for Perez Hilton.

Last weekend, we took another trip to Julian. This is probably the third or fourth time we’ve been there, although one of those times we’re just passing there on our way to Borrego Springs (we were headed actually to Salton Sea, but ended up there instead).

The trip this time wasn’t really planned. First we just went to had some breakfast at local coffee shop, Krakatoa. This is the first time we went there. The place is pretty small, but I like the atmosphere which reminds me of house in Tondano, although it’s much cleaner.

Anyway, after eating some bagels and drinking black Chinese tea (for me) and banana peanut butter smoothie for Adam, we get on our car and drive to Julian.

The weather was colder than usual. Now it felt more like a winter than summer. I’d like to say that summer has officially over that day because we also need to set our clock “one hour back” because of the Daily Saving Time kind of thing.

The trip was fun. The high way wasn’t that busy mainly because it’s weekend. We took a stop sometimes if we notice something interesting and wanted to take pictures. Well, there were so many beautiful view that needed to record with our camera, but unfortunately you can’t just stop whenever you want.

Here are some of the pictures :

Maj and Adam on Vista Point

Getting a work permit apparently not enough when you about to hunt for jobs here in the US (legally of course). You MUST have a social security number. So, that’s actually my next step. Tomorrow I’ll be on the line to get that and waiting for another 10-14 days.

I have print the form but I haven’t fill it in. It’s not as complicated as the other immigration form. I download the form from here.

I tried to set up an appointment by calling the local office but the machine kept asking me to mention the last digits of my SSN and they didn’t have any option for the one who doesn’t have any. I found out that some people decided to just show up to the office by bringing their work authorization card and passport. But just I am gonna bring all those paper I got from the INS.

Also, I got my interview date for Green Card which is on June 20th. They said to bring proof that we’re really married, so not only we’re gonna bring our marriage certificate, we decided to make a joint bank account. Also, soon I am gonna have my very first Credit Card here in the US.

Schmap

Few days ago, someone emailed me and said that this photo above has been short-listed for inclusion in the second edition of our Schmap California Guide, to be published at the end of
May 2008.

Hmmm, maybe I should consider to become a photographer in the future? That sound like fun (*)

Last weekend we back again to Mission Trails Regional Park. This time we went so early so we can explore more to this interesting place. It wasn’t really hot that day, probably because it’s almost winter now already, which is great when you had to walk in such a open places like that.

We also decided to use map that was available at the Visitor Center.

That’s Adam trying to figure out which way to go. We ended choose a path that would lead us miles and miles away from our car. I knew we would be exhausted when we tried to get back later, however that places was just so interesting, you would want to explore them all.

… and that’s me eating tuna for lunch.

The weather report said that it was gonna rain that day. It did twice, but not really that bad. The next thing you knew, the sky getting clear again and the other time there were dark clouds upon you.

We kept walking for several hours and we ended up at parking lot near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. We ran out water so we thought there would be water fountain available there. We were wrong, they didn’t even have nearby stores and restaurants. Thankfully, there was community park just in few blocks and the most important thing it had water.

On our way back, we saw this electric tower.

We also tried to take few quite different path that marked as “expert” in the map to see how difficult it was. It wasn’t that bad at all. What makes it “worst” because there were so many rocks compare to “easier” path.

We finally arrived at Visitor Center (where we park our car) around 5 pm (we started around 11.00 am). So, we had been walking like 7 hours and STILL there were many places that we haven’t got a chance to explore, so we definitely will back again sometimes soon (*)

Actually, the last time we went there, we only play Badminton for short while because it is just too windy. But we took lots of picture, for more you can check my Flickr account.

I took Black and White picture lately, I even joined the group with people who share the same interest on Flickr. I just learn some new technique on Paint.Net, that makes me even more inspired in taking more pictures(*)
